My Peak Challenge 2015

 My Peak Challenge
I have started this page to keep you up to date with my efforts in this!
I had decided that it was about time I got back into some form of exercising.  When I lived in the UK I belonged to a Health Club and went there about three times a week.  Since moving to France I have done NO form of exercise (unless you count a very limited amount of swimming at the end of the summer!).  While I was contemplating what type of exercise I might realistically do, I found out about "My Peak Challenge".
So what is it all about?
Well, it's described as "A fully scalable programme that can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. It aims to encourage individuals from all walks of life to reach peak fitness, achieve personal goals and feel great, while raising money for an incredibly deserving charity"
How did I find out about it?
Some of you are aware of my addiction to the Outlander series of novels by the author Diana Gabaldon.  You might also be aware that the first book has been made into a TV series, although it is not available in the UK yet.  Anyway, the leading male is played by an actor called Sam Heughan and My Peak Challenge is his brainchild.
The idea is that people choose their challenge, either individually or in a group, and set a goal.   And, part of the challenge is to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research

The official My Peak Challenge weekend will take place on 14 and 15 March 2015 and
I have chosen my goal to be a 5km walk.
So what now?
I intend to start my training for this straight away and over the coming weeks, I shall let you know how I am doing.  I shall also give you a link so that if you want to support me and this incredibly worthwhile charity you can donate online.
